In the first photo they’re stuck between two walls in not the driving lane?

One kidney grille is smaller than the other?
The steering wheel is turned more than 180° when the wheels are barely turned?
Joan Jett is driving?
One doggo has a leash while the other doesn’t?

No front plate on a Jersey car?

The M Roadster ran 17x7.5 wheels and 225-45R17 tires in the front and 17x9 wheels and 245-40R17 tires in the rear. It sure looks like they are backwards to me in the first picture... The best part? I’m thinking that this was a press photo!

Yeah they switch between the two pictures. Weird.

I’m not sure what’s going on in that regard.

Plot twist; it’s an F body vert with a Miata windshield swap sitting on vette suspension powered by a Rotary.

I’ve been curious why BMW tends to runs a smaller sidewall in the rear compared to the front. At least on the later ones.

Tire sidewall is the aspect ratio between the width of the tire and the height of the tire, rather than an actual dimension. BMW likely does that to try to keep the front and rear tires close to the same rolling circumference while being able to have a wider rear tire.
Throwing both of those tire sizes into a calculator such as the one from
TacomaWorld
shows that those tire sizes are only 1% different in both overall diameter and circumference. Changing both to 45 sidewall or 40 sidewall results in a 2.6% and 2.8% difference respectively. That doesn’t seem like much, but its easy enough to get close by spec’ing the tires as BMW has.
